EyePoint notes increasing AI regulation and risks of misuse including with agentic AI in pharma.

“Additionally, artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions , including agentic AI and generative AI, are increasingly being used in the pharmaceutical industry (including by us). There is a global trend towards more regulation (e.g., the EU AI Act and AI laws passed in U.S. states) to govern the ethical use, privacy, and security of AI and the data that it processes. The misuse of AI solutions may give rise to liability, lead to the loss of trade secrets or other intellectual property, result in reputational harm, or lead to outcomes with unintended biases or other consequences. Any of these events could have a material adverse effect on our business. Compliance with such laws will likely be an increasing and substantial cost in the future.”
